Club Tryouts

SPRINGFIELD, IL – February 25, 2022 – Springfield Athletic Sporting Club announced today that the Club will host open tryouts at the University of Illinois Springfield, providing aspiring soccer players in the region with an opportunity to be discovered by the United Soccer League (USL) Club.

The tryouts will take place in March, and the selection of players will be announced the first week of April.

After the tryouts, a select number of players will be invited to participate in additional tryouts or training sessions, providing those players an opportunity to sign with the club. Additional details will be emailed to participants once they have registered.

There will be two tryout dates.

Saturday, March 19th | @ University of Springfield Illinois

Sunday, March 20th | @ University of Springfield Illinois

COSTS:

It will cost $25 to register a player.

COVID-19:

All players who are fully vaccinated against COVID-19 must submit proof of vaccination upon arrival at the tryout via a CDC vaccination card. Players who are not fully vaccinated, must submit a negative PCR test 48-72 hours before tryouts.

FAQs:

Are there minimum age requirements? Open to males ages 16 and over. What should I bring to the tryout? Players must come prepared with their own cleats, socks, gloves (goalkeepers), shin guards or any other equipment related to their position. Black shorts and white shirts are required.

What do I need to check-in at the tryout? Please bring an ID (driver license, passport, etc) plus confirmation of registration (email receipt, printed ticket).

What if it rains? Tryouts will take place rain or shine.

Does the club cover any tryout costs? Players are responsible for their own registration, travel, hotel, meal, and transportation cost.

What is the refund policy? No refunds.
